Who Are We
The Perfect Pet Sitter Website is the brainchild of Petsitter 365 CEO, Mike Linville. Mike is a former United States Marine that served overseas during Desert Storm. After the war, Mike went back to school and graduated from the University of California at Davis with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science.
“I started building websites as a way to pay bills while I was in college and realized that I liked web work more than I liked the engineering so I jjust stayed with it. Started my first business in the back of a construction warehouse in 1998 and haven’t looked back since. My mom was a little “peeved” at the time but she’s since forgiven me”.
Today, Mike runs three different marketing companies and holds certifications in MANY online marketing topics (see below).
Web Design Philosophy
When it comes to web design, there are a lot of different opinions on the “best” way to build your company website. After designing and developing thousands of websites over the past 20+ years – these are the rules that we’ve come up with to provide pet sitters with the best performing website at a fraction of the cost of custom development.
- I believe in the 80/20 RULE – The 80/20 rule. Also called the Pareto Principle for you nerds out there, states that you get 80% of your results from 20% of your effort. How many of you feel like it’s the other way around? All the work with no results? The key for smart marketers is to know what 20% to invest in.
- DATA is greater than just about anything else. I realize that a lot folks like to work off of gut instinct and I feel like are times when that is the appropriate test – testing the safety of a situation, meeting new people, etc but when we’re talking about online marketing – – data is how we know what 20% to focus on.
- There are always AT LEAST 2 audiences for your website – Website visitors & Search Engines.
